I recently moved halfway across the country. We moved from the deep South to the Midwest (North Texas to be precise, even though most people consider Texas to be a western state, it geographically is in the middle of the country) and have found myself missing my close proximity to Disney World. We had become accustomed to the 7 hour drive to the Magic Kingdom and made it at least once a year. In this past year, I have not been able to go and the pain and longing for another trip to see Mickey and all his friends has become nearly unbearable. I have joined a number of online groups that share their Disney experiences and I realized that even though I cannot be physically in the MK right now, I can go there in my memories. and maybe, just maybe provide some much needed advice to those who are going to visit the happiest place on earth!
So this got me to thinking. What is the number one best piece of advice you would give to someone who is planning a trip to Orlando, and specifically someone who is going to be travelling to Disney with kids. I shopped around online and discovered a lot of great advice from a lot of great Mommy blogs, but there were not a lot of Dad blogs dedicated to this idea. Most of the Dad sites I found covered the best places to find the best food and tips for dealing with the heat and chaffing. These issues, while important to many, are not the sort of issues that I always find myself needing advice for. Now, don't get me wrong the food at Disney is out of this world (Chefs de France in the World Showcase is the bomb!) So, since I'm a Dad, and I have a love for all things Disney, please, will you chill with me on this blog as I dispense some of my favorite memories about our trips to Disney (and hopefully new trips coming up soon) along with the greatest advice I can muster up from a Dad's perspective.
